Welcome to Spring 2014 in Door County

It’s time to stop hibernating and wake up to spring! A great way to do that is by joining us for two race events in May here in Door County. The first is the Door County Half Marathon on May 3rd right near us (at Julie’s Park Cafe & Motel) in Peninsula State Park. There is also a 5k run for those who prefer a shorter run. The second is the Blossom Run on May 10th in Egg Harbor (5 Mile Run, 2 Mile Run/Walk, 1 Mile Youth Fun Run). Julie’s Park Cafe & Motel opens for the season April 25th, and we’d love to have you stay with us.

If running is not your cup of tea, how about stopping in Sister Bay on May 10th for the Roofing of the Goats Parade. You’ve heard about the goats on the roof in Door County, right? Well, now you can be at the scene of the action. And, if you’re not already staying in Sister Bay, you can’t miss hanging out there for the day.

The Girlfriends’ Great Eggscape is a women’s getaway weekend in Egg Harbor, WI from May 15th to May 18th. You can enjoy activities like a pub crawl, cooking classes, tons of shopping, Zumba classes, karaoke, and much more.

To help with your Door County visit, check out the 2014 Door County Visitor Guide. That link shows how to order them for free, or there’s a link to view it online. The guide includes a 2-page Door County map, helpful travel information, plus sections on the arts, history & culture, recreational activities, dinging and lodging, shopping, and more. Also included are profiles of the communities that make up Door County. A 2014 calendar of events, index, and individual community maps are included in the guide.
