Julie' Park Cafe and Motel has beene since 1998. Since then it has undergone many changes that are typical to keep up with the times. This year is no different. If you check our blog, you may have already seen the post about the new flooring in the restaurant. The flooring is completely installed and now Shane is hard at work sanding and restaining the booths. We are alsoing continuing to make updates in the motel. Since Shane and I bought the cafe and motel in March of 2010, we have been working on the motel rooms. Although we would love to redo the motel all at once, it's just not possible. So far, we have redone 3 of the bathrooms and are planning number four this spring. We replaced the TVs last year as well as many of the desks. New carpet has been installed in two of the rooms. We have purchased three new sleeper sofas for the rooms that will go in this year. We are very excited about these new changes. We hope you come in and check out not only our cafe but also our motel. We hope to become your Fish Creek...

With the coming of May, Door County starts to look alive. Shops, restaurants, and motels that went into hibernation for the winter start to blossom open. One of the first big events of the season that we see is the Door County Half Marathon. This year the event will take place on May 5. As always, the beautiful run is in Peninsula State Park. If you don't know this already, Peninsula State Park is right in our backyard. Whether you come to run, to cheer someone on, or just happen to be up that weekend, please come visit us and say hi on our second weekend open for the season. We look forward to our Spaghetti dinner on Friday night. Carbo load before the big race. Stay at our Fish Creek motel Friday night so you are right at the park's door for the race in the morning. Join us for lunch or dinner Saturday night or for breakfast on Sunday on your way out of town.

The 2011 season was a great one for us at the café and motel. Shane and I have now completed two years as owners and three years at Julie’s. This past season was filled with excitement and growth. We have grown as owners and people. This year we have met many great people that have come into the restaurant and motel, and hopefully many of them will not only be customers but also friends. We hope everyone left happy, had a great experience and will return next year for another great Door County experience. Each new day brought challenges and excitement. We had a great staff that made the year even better. Our kitchen staff has been here for years and they continue to make delicious food for our guests. Our front staff had great leaders in Debra (crazy socks), Amy and Jordan. Mario and Lili did a great job taking care of our little motel. We would like to thank our staff for all their help. We would also like to thank our customers for their patronage and hope they return for another great season in 2012!

Peninsula State Park in Wisconsin is a destination for many Door County tourists. Julie’s Park Café and Motel is at the doorway to the park in Fish Creek. It is a great stop for breakfast on your way into the park or a meal on your way out. The bike trails begin very close to our restaurant. Feel free to stay parked in our parking lot after your meal so you can save the $money$ on a park sticker. Remember that Peninsula State Park has a lot to offer to visitors including hiking and biking trails, a lookout tower, many beach areas, an outdoor theater and much, much more! Hope to see you in the café on your way into the park!
