We are so happy to be open for the season! We are on day 2 and have seen so many of our wonderful customers that we missed all winter. We know many more are coming to see us this season and we look forward to it! Join us by dining in our Fish Creek cafe or staying in our motel!
Our first customer of the season was Bob from Red Putter!

Our staff worked hard all week to get the restaurant ready and the food prepped for Friday. One of the fun tasks that the kitchen had was to bring out the big purple chair. Of course they couldn't resist a photo op on the chair.
These guys are the ones that make the magic happen in the back of the house where you can't see them. They work very hard and do a great job!

While we are not open during the winter, I still like to share different things that you can do in the winter in Door County. One great thing in winter and summer is going to Peninsula State Park. There are so many things to do there.Yesterday Shane and I went cross country skiing in the park. The trails were so beautiful that I thought I would share some photos and tell you about the skiing.

I'm inside one my computer now writing this but Shane is actually out grooming the trails as I write. This is his first time grooming the trails. We had a lot of snow yesterday so they needed to be groomed again.
So back to skiing itself. There are two areas to park for cross country skiing. Where we usually park is Lot 5. You access this lot from a different entrance than you most likely have gone into the park before. The road is closer to the Ephraim entrance to the park...

Many of those that follow us on Facebook know that we just bought a VW Bug to make the Julie Car. We had our fans suggest names for the car. There were many great choices but in the end we decided on Jule-Bug -- The Little Purple People Seater. We purchased the car when we were in California visiting Shane's family. Shane bought it from a lady who was keeping it in her barn. Being in southern California, it grew up without snow and salt. This kept it from rusting like many older cars in Wisconsin. We trailered the car and brought it back to Door County. Now it has a nice place in our garage in Sister Bay. Shane will be working on it this spring in hopes that it will be ready for the roads in Fish Creek this summer. It won't be...
