If you've driven through Egg Harbor, Door County this summer you have seen the egg art in front of the local businesses. I had seen them driving through so we decided to have a tourist afternoon in Egg Harbor. We parked the car and took a walk through town. The Village of Egg Harbor is celebrating 50 years and so they decided to have artists create 50 eggs.

The eggs are displayed all over town for people to enjoy while in Door County. While you walk around town, you not only can enjoy the sites and do some shopping, you can also check out the beautiful displays!

Pick out your favorite and come back on August 23 when they auction off the eggs.

If you can't get to Door County to visit Egg Harbor this summer, check out the Egg Harbor website...

Julie's Park Cafe & Motel is now open 7 days a week until the end of October for 2014. We have a few new menu items this year! We are very excited to have added Granola & Blueberry Pancakes to the breakfast menu. (We use our homemade granola in these.)

It's time to stop hibernating and wake up to spring! A great way to do that is by joining us for two race events in May here in Door County. The first is the Door County Half Marathon on May 3rd right near us (at Julie's Park Cafe & Motel) in Peninsula State Park. There is also a 5k run for those who prefer a shorter run. The second is the Blossom Run on May 10th in Egg Harbor (5 Mile Run, 2 Mile Run/Walk, 1 Mile Youth Fun Run). Julie's Park Cafe & Motel opens for the season April 25th, and we'd love to have you stay with us. Running Races May 2014 If running is not your cup of tea, how about stopping in Sister Bay on May 10th for the Roofing of the Goats Parade....

Each May begins with the excitement of the Door County Half Marathon. The first Saturday in May brings many runners and their supporters to northern Door County. The race also includes a 5K for those who like a shorter run. Peninsula State Park, from Fish Creek to Ephraim, hosts the beautiful course with its hills and incredible scenery.

At Julie's, we love making things from scratch. We do it as often as possible. One of our homemade products is our granola. We bring in all the ingredients and bake it in our kitchen in the cafe. I have to say that I love walking into the kitchen when the granola is baking. I could just stand there and inhale the savory aroma that floats through the kitchen. Since we want it fresh in the morning, you have to be at Julie's early to be able to enjoy the smell of it baking.

Door County is know for cherry everything. One of our most popular cherry dishes is our Cherry Pie. We actually make 4 versions of pie with cherries: Cherry Pie, Sugar Free Cherry Pie, Gluten Free Cherry Pie, and Cherry-Rhubarb Pie. While each person has their favorite, they are all made with love in our own kitchen.

Door County cherries

Our cherries are from Seaquist Orchards just north of Sister Bay. This is one of many orchards that grow delicious cherries in Door County.

Below shows our cherries pies that we make with a little bit of love for that special ingredient.
